No Crystal Stair is probably the only book I'd want to listen to on Audiobook, because it's told through people's voices, in researched, but fictionally put together, oral history format. My only complaint is that I do wish there were more pictures and illustrations by the wonderful R. Gregory Christie, and a timeline for readers who get distracted in the midpoint of the book (as I did). There
is a great bibliography and afterword / notes section at the end. Overall I was thrilled to discover Michaux and his life's work and sad that I hadn't heard of him before.
