At first I thought this was going to be a book that derived its humor from a character who didn't know what a pill she was, but it was much better than that one trick character joke. The world of this book is a little more saturated, a little more magical than the real world (maybe that's what being rich is like?) but not whimsical and not without real human problems and reactions. The balance of humor, ridiculous mishap, fake architectural history, and use of ephemera is spot on. I hope the movie will live up to it.
