I'm so in love with Olamina as a female character: she's strong and opinionated but not portrayed as a bitch. She's ambitious and kind and even sort of tender, and she's principled. And I'm really into Earthseed.
I liked how Asha Vere, who wasn't as into Olamina as I was, was written so that you could kind of understand where that came from, but not explicitly written that way--it came out in how she told her story. I wanted more from Marcos Duran, but then the book would have been like 600 pages instead of 400. Can't wait to read more Butler.
